Alessandro Malchionda

Based in Italy and a member of AIR3 (Italian Directors Association), I work across commercial and documentary filmmaking to bring authentic stories to life. After studying filmmaking at ITSOS Albe Steiner in Milan and graduating from DAMS at the University of Cinema in Bologna, I refined my directing skills at Silvio Soldini’s ShortFilmLab. Commercials Since 2010, I have directed commercials, focusing heavily on the automotive sector. My portfolio includes work for international brands such as Aston Martin, Peugeot, Vodafone, Colmar, Vibram, Intesa Sanpaolo, Ferretti Group, Iren, Sofar, and Essse Caffè. Television Broadcast My extensive television background spans promos, sports events, and documentary filmmaking for major networks such as Sky, RAI, Mediaset, and Discovery. Deeply specialized in the automotive sector, my broadcast experience includes extensive work as a director for DriveUp—Italy’s leading automotive Tv program—covering iconic brands like Ferrari, Lamborghini, BMW, Pagani, Porsche, Fiat, Volkswagen, Audi, and Hyundai. Cinema & Documentaries On the narrative front, my projects have received international recognition. The short film Clacson was selected for the David di Donatello Awards in 2013, Days of Giants was awarded at the Sportel Contest in Monaco, and Nausicaa screened at the Madrid Film Festival. Crucial to my cinematic path is my work as Art Director for Sono Gassman, the Sky Arte documentary presented at the Rome Film Festival and winner of the Nastro d'Argento in 2019, where I shaped the project's visual identity. Whether steering a high-speed automotive shoot or capturing an intimate documentary frame, my focus remains on where technical precision meets a compelling human story.
